COURS ÉCRIRE TON COURT screenwriting competition devoted to Quebec literature

The 2013 edition of SODEC’s COURS ÉCRIRE TON COURT screenwriting competition is exclusively devoted to the adaptation of Quebec literature. It presents a unique opportunity for up-and-coming screenwriters and directors who are eligible SODEC’s ‘Programme d’aide aux jeunes créateurs’ to develop a short film based on a literary work by a Quebec author. Selected applicants will benefit from professional mentoring, writing workshops, and ongoing discussions with established screenwriting professionals to develop their screenplay.

Projects must be submitted by individuals, not businesses or organizations. Applicants may submit only one project proposal. Projects may be submitted in French or English. Applications should include the first draft of a screenplay —with dialogue— for a short feature or animated film of 12 minutes or less, adapted from the work of a Quebec author.
